Having a very small plot with an already existing residence inside, it was required the design of two independent flats. The only location for the new construction was in a distance of 3.10m adjacent to the plot limit and the existing building’s blind side. At that oblique place two residencies were created: one ground floor having its entrance from the front side and one in the first floor having its entrance starting from the back yard of the plot. Due to the lack of adequate square meters, an internal loft was designed in the first floor flat, taking advantage of the lower heights of the washrooms, for the creation of another main space. Furthermore, a reduction was made to the court yard’s square meters, in order for the first floor flat to utilize the existing building’s flat roof as a porch.
