The permitted minimum free heights of building spaces are defined as follows:

  • For main use 2.50 m.
  • For auxiliary use 2.20 m. and
  • Regardless of use under beams or other projecting structural elements under their ceilings or false ceilings 2.00 m.

* The above permitted minimum free heights of building spaces are reduced to 2.20 m., 2.00 m. and 1.90 m. respectively, since they were formed before 30-9-55. 

-Main use areas of the buildings are those intended to serve the basic use of the building and the stay of its users in them, such as in residential buildings the bedrooms, day areas, kitchens, offices.

The main use areas of the buildings are those intended for the stay in normal operating conditions of users for a long period of time.

– Auxiliary use areas are areas that are not intended to serve the basic use of the building and the stay of its users in them, such as circulation areas, corridors, vestibules, stairwells, sanitary areas, engine rooms, warehouses, car parks, accommodation buildings animals.

The auxiliary use areas serve the main use and are intended for users to stay in normal operating conditions for a short period of time.
